The interactive map also serves as a geographically based portal to the University. Many search results (marked with the icon) link to the Web sites of individual schools, departments, offices, and organizations at Yale.

The map and database are maintained by the Office of the Yale University Printer. Please use the "request a change" form to submit comments or questions, or to let us know if you find mistakes or omissions on the site.

From I-95 North or South
I-95 traveling north or south Exit 47 to Route 34 west to Exit 2 or 3. Visitor parking available in Air Rights Garage. Enter the Air Rights Garage from North or South Frontage Roads, or York Street.

From I-91 South
I-91 traveling south Exit 1 to Route 34 west to Exit 2 or 3. Visitor parking available in Air Rights Garage. Enter the Air Rights Garage from North or South Frontage Roads, or York Street.

Wilbur Cross Parkway (Rte. 15) traveling south
Exit 59 immediately after tunnel. Right at end of ramp. Merge left onto Whalley Avenue at light. Stay on Whalley until you see signs for Yale-New Haven at Park Street. Follow hospital signs, then make a left turn onto South Frontage Road. Visitor parking available in Air Rights Garage. Enter the Air Rights Garage from South Frontage Road, or York Street.

Merritt Parkway (Rte. 15) traveling north
Exit 57 to Route 34 east into New Haven. Right onto Ella T. Grasso Boulevard (Rte. 10) and left onto South Frontage Road (Legion Ave.). Follow hospital and Rte. 34 signs. Covered entrance at 20 York Street. Visitor parking available in Air Rights Garage. Enter from North or South Frontage Roads, or York Street.

Route 1 (Boston Post Road) traveling east
After crossing Ella T. Grasso Boulevard (Rte. 10), turn left onto Davenport Avenue. When Davenport crosses Howard Avenue, it becomes York Street. Visitor parking available in Air Rights Garage. Enter the Air Rights Garage from York Street.

Zoom and pan

The map has three zoom levels, which can be accessed by clicking on the map or by using the zoom in/zoom out (+/-) interface in the upper right corner. Use the pan arrows on the inside edges of the map to move up and down or side to side.

Locate

To find a location on the Yale campus, use the menu on the left to:

• search for buildings and organizations by name, address, abbreviation (such as SML), etc.;
• select a neighborhood;
• select a category (e.g., museum).

Most queries will generate a list of relevant results. Roll over the list to highlight locations on the map. Click on a particular result, or on any building on the map, for more information, including a list of Yale departments, offices, and organizations housed there. Click on links with the icon to link to that organization’s web site.

Yale’s athletic fields are located west of the central campus and are not part of this interactive map. Here is an image of the athletics area. You can also download a PDF of the full map. Note that you can still do "Search map for" (e.g. Yale Bowl) or "Select a: Sports or athletic facility" to get information about any facility, and a link to Google Maps.

Directions to the athletic fields

Route 15 (Wilbur Cross/Merritt Parkways):
Take Exit 57 (Route 34 East) directly to the Yale Fields. Or, take Exit 59 (Whalley Avenue) and follow Yale Bowl signs to the Yale Fields.

From I-95:
Take Eastbound Exit 44 or Westbound Exit 45 to Route 10 and follow Yale Bowl signs. Or, take Exit 47 (Downtown) and follow Route 34 to the Yale Fields.

From I-91:
Take Exit 1 (Downtown) and follow Route 34 to the Yale Fields.

From downtown New Haven:
Go north on Chapel Street; turn left on Derby Avenue (Route 34) and continue to the Yale Fields.

Yale’s West Campus is located approximately 7 miles southwest of the central campus and is not yet a part of this interactive map. Here is an image of the West Campus area.
